Sounds like you cat has an allergy problem that needs to be addressed by your vet. Many things can cause allergies and you need to know what is going on before you try to treat him at home. If it was just dry skin or a dull coat I would say add a can of canned kitty food to his diet a couple times a week it has more oils and stuff for the skin than dry foods and won’t cause any other issues you don’t want to deal with. But seriously talk to your vet. He/she can give you a special spray to use on him to relieve the itching and assist you in treating the actual cause.

My vet recommended cod liver oil tablets for my cat – you just break them open and pour them over the cats food – I found it really worked, have a word with your vet.

u need to go to ur vet.. its not dry skin. it could be mites, fleas, anything .. not dry skin… dry skin causes symptoms such as flaking and dandruff like in humans.. red patches is not dry skin.

If its a allergy try some children benadryl. If its dry skin add oil to his diet. I would recommend real butter. A small dab each day will be enough. If it is not helped he may have a skin parasite that a vet can diagnose.

Aloe MIGHT help, but he should be seen by a vet. It sounds like it could be an allergic reaction (allergies can form at any time!), which can cause serious health issues.

If it’s red and itchy, you really need to see a vet.. dry skin is simply just flaking… This could be a serious rash, and will require medication.

Could be anything from a flea allergy to a food allergy to ringworm. There is really no safe home remedy other than fixing the problem at the source! I will say though that many cats are very allergic to corn, so feeding a food free of corn and chemical preservatives will help if that’s the issue.
You really need to take him to the vet to determine just what the problem is, I’m afraid. Don’t be putting lotions, powders, etc on him that are made for humans — whatever you put on him he will ingest when he bathes himself, and then you will end up with a sick (or poisoned) cat not just an itchy one.
