I mentioned in one of my skin care routine vids that I sometimes get dry flaky skin and a lot of people requested a video on how I deal with it. This is my method that works great for me. I know there are things out there like the Clarisonic Brush.. but lets be real, not everyone can afford that. This is a frugal girl’s means of exfoliation. haha enjoy. This method is great for those with sensitive skin who can’t tolerate AHA or BHA aka Aspirin aka salicylic acid. Another cream/lotion I would recommend is Cetaphil!!! I used this before I discovered Philosophy’s Hope in a Jar. I don’t like picture tutorials but if I did this filming live, I’d probably get honey all over my camera!
I am asian, and I have acne (or actually… a few ‘remains’ of acne) but my skin continues to break out. Most of this is genetic, but are there any good home remedies to make zits ‘disappear’? I’ve heard of lemon juice… But my skin is kind of sensitive so I’m not sure how it will work.
My mom has suggested and she is wanting to buy Proactiv for me but she’s hasn’t gotten to it… but almost a year. I’m not allowed to go shopping by myself yet, so what inexpensive home remedies are there?
There is no cure for keratin pilaris however, you can control it and keep your skin looking beautiful through a regular body scrub. Salt or sugar will do nicely and instead of paying $25 a jar for a body scrub, why not learn to make your own spa quality body scrub?
Salt scrubs are one of the easiest home spa products to make — and a great gift if you put it in a pretty jar. With this easy salt scrub recipe, you can exfoliate your skin at home instead of paying $90 or more for a salt glow at the spa.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
* 1/2 cup oil. Use sweet almond, grapeseed or another light-textured massage oil. Don’t use simple cooking oil from your pantry.
* 1 cup fine sea salt. Baleine is a good choice. Don’t use simple iodized table salt — it’s too harsh. If you have sensitive skin you can substitute sugar, which is gentler.
* 5 drops high quality essential oils. The essential oil you choose for your salt scrub depends on the result you want. Lavender is relaxing, lemongrass is refreshing and rosemary is stimulating.
Preparation:
Put the salt (or sugar) in a small bowl.
Add the oil, mixing well with a spoon or wooden stick. The texture should be moist enough to hold together, but not overly oily. You can adjust the amount of oil to achieve that texture.
Gently tap in the drops of essential oil and combine well. If you get more interested in aromatherapy you can customize your recipe using different essential oils.
So now you’re ready to use your home-made salt scrub — once a week is plenty. And remember, never use a body scrub on your pretty face, you need something more delicate for the facial area.
I have about 3-5 no biggie, but if you usually have perfect skin it’s a problem. I need the most effective home remedy that clears skin fast.
I have very sensitive skin that is sunburned and peeling.
