Mixing Your Own Home Treatment for Acne

Preparing a home treatment for acne is quite easy and can even be fun. Making facial masks, a paste or a facial wash using the ingredients that are commonly found inside your home can provide you with a pimple cure and can even be a relaxing way to pass your time. No need to drive through traffic and spend hours in a dermatology clinic waiting room. All you need is a few minutes and a handful of simple ingredients.

Preparing home treatment for acne can be as easy as mixing water with salt. This concoction can be used as a facial wash. Using it on your face every night will help minimize the oil produced by your glands and help prevent pimple breakouts. It is also a proven way to get a thoroughly clean skin.

Do you love the smell of lemon? It does not only sooth your senses; it can also be used to fight zits! Dab lemon juice on your pimples or mix it with water to use as a facial wash. If you prefer another way, use the skin to massage your face and leave it on for 30 minutes, and then wash it off with warm water. There are just so many ways you can use lemon to fight off pimples.

If you love baking, chances are, you have corn flour and egg in your kitchen. You can mix them in a bowl to create a paste that you can apply to your face. Leave the paste on for an hour before you clean your face with fresh water. This can be done every night to make your skin smoother, more supple and pimple-free.

You might not like the smell, but garlic is quite effective in treating acne. Just dab a few cloves of garlic on the affected areas and leave it on for a half hour. Wash your face with clean water after. You can do this twice a day and you’ll see an immediate effect. Garlic is effective in reducing pimple swelling and eliminating other forms of skin irritation.

If you prefer your cure to be very basic or you need an overnight solution, just use ice on your pimples. A cube of ice held against an offending bump can help lessen the inflamed appearance of a pimple overnight. Not much trouble, unless you can’t stand getting cold hands.

Tomatoes are not only nutritious; they are also effective against acne. Pick a couple of fresh, ripe tomatoes from your garden and use the pulp ointment-like on your pimples. Leave it on for an hour or so and then wash it off with clean water. The nutrients in the tomato have been proven effective in fighting off bacteria, even those lodged in your pores.

If you’re not in the kitchen but in the bathroom, then you need not go far for a solution. Use the toothpaste on your bathroom cabinet and apply some on your zits before you go to bed. Wash it off next morning and you will notice how the swelling has gone down. Easy, hassle-free and quite effective!

Making a home treatment for acne does not require a lot of time. You don’t even need to spend a lot of money to make one since most ingredients are already lying around in your kitchen or your garden. Just choose the one you like best and start mixing.

Turning a little bit “medical”, acne is known by doctors as Acne Vulgaris. This is a peculiar skin disease found commonly among adolescent people. This article tries to help you in treating your acne by proving a few common home treatments for acne.

Acne is the result of changes in the pilosabaceous units, i.e. the skin structures which consist of the hair follicle and the associated sebaceous glands. Under severe situations, acne can be inflammatory but is sometimes manifested in the non-inflammatory form as well. The lesions of acne are commonly known as zits, spots or pimples.

As mentioned earlier, acne affects the adolescent people and almost 85 percent of the teenagers are affected by the ailment. This disease is carried on to the phase of adulthood. Normally, acne decreases over time and in the majority of cases it is found that acne disappears during the early 20′s, but for some it may continue well into the 40′s and beyond. There are however treatments available and can help an individual, affected by acne, to get rid of the disease.

There are certain home treatments for acne and are helpful without side effects. There are professional medical aids as well. It’s up to you to choose which applies to your skin and acne severity.

Certain home treatments for Acne are really easy and helpful and do not require any high degree of expertise in the arena of medical science. Let us have a look at some of them.

- Make a solution of lemon juice and rose water. Ensure that the solution is made by mixing equal quantities of lemon juice and rose water. Apply it in the affected area and let it dry. Wash it off with fresh water. This helps to reduce Acne.

- Crush a few garlic pods and make a paste by adding some honey and curd. Apply the paste on the affected area. This is very effective among various kinds of acne. Apply the paste on the pimples only. Rinse it off after some time using fresh water.

Here’s my skin regimen that I try to keep up with.

Everyday morning and night, I wash, tone and moisturize with products made for my skintype.
Once a week, I steam my face for 15-20 minutes, apply a clay face mask, wait til that dries then I cleanse, tone and moisturize.

My advice to you is to drink tons of water and eat really healthy, what you put inside your body ; shows outside your body. Excercise and sleep is also important, I find I break out more if I don’t sleep enough and I just look plain disgusting when I don’t sleep and excercise, YUCK.

Try not to wear heavy makeup, and when you do; make sure you wash it off well. I can not tell people this enough DO NOT SLEEP WITH MAKEUP ON! AT ALL! a little chapstick is fine but other makeup is a NO NO! TAKE IT ALL OFF!

Q&A: Do ice close or open skin pores and how does it happen?

Question by TameMe: Do ice close or open skin pores and how does it happen?
“The ice opens the pores of your skin while benzoyl peroxide is given the opportunity now to go inside those open pores to destroy the acne bacteria..” – theacnerelief.com/blog/at-home-pimple-treatment

“Apply an ice cube to the pimple and hold it for a few minutes. The ice cube decreases the swelling and redness and at the same time shrinks enlarged pores.”- www.beauty-advices.com/how-to-get-rid-of-pimples-and-how-to-treat-pimples/

Okay…. so which one of these articles is correct? Top one sounds like ice opens pore. Bottom one states that it closes pore.

Thanks for the clarification and explanation in advance !
IsaRich, what is the name of the course you took. I am very interested to learn what you have learned.
The mom. So you say ice closes the pore, which seems to make sense by your explanation of the contraction of the capillaries. When you state that Benzoyl Peroxide only works on the surface of the skin, are you trying to suggest that when applying Benzoyl Peroxide, do it while you are putting hot water on the face since hot water will open the pores and allowed the Benzoyl Peroxide to penetrate deep.

IT actually opens your pores…sometimes teenagers will ice a part of their skin and put salt on that spot to feel the burn because the salt clogged the pores and it hurts. So yeah it opens it
