Didn’t work for me. I can’t help but swallow as the taste is horrible. But it turns out that I have strep so thats probably why it didn’t work.
my mom is a doctor and she would not let me do it!!! she said: DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IN THE HOSPITAL FROM SALT OVERDOSE…. i said no…. SHE SAYS ITS REALLY BAD FOR YOU
i actually just did this and within about 15 mins i feel a little better already
The bacteria may die due to dessication(drying out) because water is attracted to sodium. The sodium draws out moisture and stops life sustaining activities. This is why most bacteria cant survive on the skin, its too salty. There are certain kinds of bacteria that thrive in salty environments, like the staph. that covers your skin. I dont remember which kinds of bacteria cause the sore throat but this is worth trying. P.S. salt will not kill viurses because their not alive in the first place.

the reason this helps is because salt pulls out the bacteria in your throat, it also coats the mucus membranes.
if you dont have that kind of container you could just drop it right in your throat by facing up

I don’t have a long necked salt bottle so I rolled up salt in a 1 inch x 3 inch piece of paper (like a straw) and then delivered it into my throat. Instant relief!! It may be placebo to some extent too but I am soooo glad that it worked & I am relieved from this useless pain.

i have that now. i went to the doc, it’s strep throat for me.
go to your doctor though, but i have the EXACT same symptoms
feels like a lump in my throught that i can’t swallow and it hurts
